Bach Complete Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin BWV 1001 à 1006
An iconic violinist in the 1970 and 80s, who worked with some of the great names from Radu Lupu to Claudio Abbado, and from Krystian Zimerman to Simon Rattle, Kyung-Wha Chung is making a stunning comeback to the professional stage. Born into a famous musical family – her brother is Myung-Whun Chung – and a pupil of the legendary Ivan Galamian and Joseph Szigeti, she made an early international debut and had many recordings to her credit, which have recently been collected in a box set. She has played with the most prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic orchestras. This unique artist, with her captivating personality, is coming back to Paris with Bach sonatas and partitas, the ultimate works in the violin repertoire and a rite of passage for all great performers. A truly wonderful event.
