Happy Birthday to the talented members of the long-established Wanderer Trio.
Trio Wanderer - DR
Dvořák Trio for piano, violin and cello op. 90B « Dumky »
Schubert Trio for piano, violin and cello op. 99 D. 898
This year, the Wanderer Trio is celebrating its 30th anniversary, raising the profile of chamber music ever more successfully worldwide. As the holder of the most prestigious awards, including three French “Victoire” classical music prizes, with a rich recording catalogue and a teeming repertoire, it is a model of longevity and cohesion. This closeness and high profile are the bedrock of its universally acclaimed reputation for excellence. There are two masterpieces on the programme: the iconic Dumky by Dvořák, is the composer’s calling card and an ideal access point to the Slavonic world, characterised by a vitality tinged with melancholy. Schubert’s first Trio is a gem of painful freshness and fragile joyfulness in which, according to Schumann, “all the misery of existence vanishes as if by magic”.
